Will There Be a Beverly Crusher Ornament in ‘24?

With the recent behind the scenes footage from the making of the 2024 Hallmark Dream Book we were able to get a quick glance of the Christopher Pike ornament that was announced late last year. Included in the image is a second ornament that looks similar to Beverly Crusher, our Next Generation doctor.

There is no doubt it bares a resemblance, from the red shoulder length hair and blue knee-length open medical coat to the black pants with matching collar. Couple that with the fact it is being photographed along side the Pike ornament on what would presumably be the Star Trek page of the Dream Book and the odds are likelier.

A Crusher ornament was my first thought after seeing the image but I quickly dismissed it. It seemed unlikely Hallmark would revisit the secondary characters of Next Generation. When I saw a reader’s comment on here also asking if it was Crusher, I looked again and couldn’t help but think there may be something to this revisit of the Next Generation crew. The cast was back in the spotlight with last year’s Picard Season 3 reunion and it may be the perfect time to honor the TNG crew more thoroughly. Perhaps this is part of a Next Generation Legends series that TOS was honored with from 2010-2016. Fingers crossed.

Possible Crusher ornament (left) from behind the scenes of the Dream Book shoot.
The file for the images is clearly marked Star Trek. Well, somewhat clearly.

CONFIRMED!

It seems it was answered before the question was even asked due to an overlooked comment from Kevin Dilmore.

“Hailing frequencies are open.” From the command deck of the Starship Enterprise, Lieutenant Uhura breaks the silence of deep space. As communications officer, she transmits messages in all the languages of the known galaxy. Hers is often the first human voice to be heard by alien races in unexplored star systems. Both Uhura’s name and her spirit reflect the Swahili word for “freedom.”

Pros: Capturing the bridge and viewscreen from The Wrath of Khan at this angle is a clever idea. It instantly evokes one of the most iconic confrontations in Trek history, and the partial recreation of the set is an ambitious touch for an ornament.
Cons: Unfortunately, the figures are so small that their sculpts feel overly simplified and lack detail. The concept is solid, but the scale limits its impact. This is a scene that would truly shine as a larger tabletop display rather than a tree ornament.

Pros: It’s a treat to see this somewhat obscure but extraordinary version of the Enterprise-D—complete with its third nacelle and aggressive upgrades—join the holiday fleet. The sculpt is sharp, and the design perfectly captures the ship’s sleek but formidable look from “All Good Things…”.
Cons: Some fans may not immediately recognize this alternate future Enterprise. To which we say: shame on them! A quick rewatch of the TNG finale should fix that.

Pros: You get a lot of bang for your buck with this one. The use of strobe lights creates a fantastic transporter effect that truly feels alive—and the sound is bold, immersive, and attention-grabbing. It’s a showstopper on the tree.
Cons: The character sculpts don’t quite match the quality of the effects—they’re serviceable, but not standout. And yes, the volume is really loud. Great for dramatic flair… maybe less so for quiet holiday mornings.

Pros: The included stand is a fantastic addition, allowing the Enterprise to be proudly displayed year-round—on a desk, shelf, or anywhere a starship might belong.
Cons: The downside? The ornament won’t light up on the tree unless the stand remains attached, making tree display awkward and less flexible. A great idea with one frustrating limitation.

Additional information: The was the last Star Trek ornament Hallmark produced to be plugged into a light strand. Battery powered ornaments would become the norm. Resistance was futile.
Pros: Arguably the most intricately detailed Star Trek ornament sculpted by Anita Marra Rogers—and she absolutely delivered. From the cybernetic implants to the textured suit, Locutus is a stunning representation of one of Trek’s most haunting transformations.
Cons: The pigtail power cord design can be a bit of a hassle, but there is something strangely satisfying about hearing the Borg voice activate every time the tree lights came on.

Pros: Khan marks the first Star Trek character ornament not based on a main crew member—a bold move that showed Hallmark was willing to explore deeper corners of the Trek universe. A great choice in theory, and one that expanded the line beyond the bridge crew.
Cons: Unfortunately, this version is based on Space Seed, not The Wrath of Khan—where the character truly became legendary. The pose is generic and forgettable, the skin tone is noticeably off, and it lacks the intensity that made Khan an icon. Let’s be honest: the real Khan ornament fans want is Kirk, fists clenched, yelling his name to the heavens. It’s one of those moments that transcends fandom. Hallmark, we’re still waiting—KHAAAN!

Pros: If your goal was to preserve Enterprise’s environmental suit in ornament form, mission accomplished. The sculpt gets the suit details right, and it’s a fun representation of the show’s focus on early space exploration.

Vulcans were the first alien species to make contact when humans achieved the technology to travel to the stars. The encounter was friendly, but as time passed, the Vulcans became paternalistic and controlling to protect their interests. The ships of the Vulcan High Command are never far from the ENTERPRISE as it explores neighboring regions of the galaxy.
This Keepsake Ornament is a ship from the Vulcan fleet that features their characteristic sleek daggerlike hull and upright ring design. The bridge is lighted, and blue panels glow from inside the propulsion ring. A small scout ship can be seen, docked in the aft section of the fuselage.

Pros: The uniform is spot-on in both color and design, and the likeness is solid—immediately recognizable as Enterprise’s Vulcan first officer. A nice addition to the character lineup.
Cons: T’Pol tends to lean a bit too far forward when hanging—thanks to some top-heavy sculpting. A minor display challenge that might require a little creative tree-branch engineering to correct.

Additional information:
Pros: A captain seated in the command chair is always a winning pose, and this ornament continues that tradition well. The body language captures Archer’s leadership style—focused, grounded, and ready for whatever space throws at him.
Cons: The likeness is a bit inconsistent. From the side, the sculpt nails it—but viewed straight on, the face doesn’t quite hold up. Still recognizable, but not Hallmark’s best facial work.

THE SCORPION
STAR TREK Nemesis
Abducted and imprisoned on a hostile alien starship, Captain Jean-Luc Picard is freed by Commander Data in disguise. Together they battle their way through the corridors of the huge vessel into a shuttle bay, where they discover a fleet of Scorpion attack flyers.
Unable to open the shuttle doors, their only means of escape is for Captain Picard to pilot a Scorpion through the twisting interior of the ship to freedom. This Keepsake Ornament features glowing lights on the Scorpion’s wing panels and exhaust port as well as in the landing lights. The cockpit instrument panel is also lighted. Sculpted by Hallmark Keepsake Artists Lynn Norton and Anita Marra Rogers.

Additional information: The only ornament that combined the work of long time Hallmark Star Trek artists, Lynn Norton and Anita Marra Rogers. Unfortunately, Rogers’ work is obscured by the very dark tinting on the canopy of the ship due to a last minute design change. You can see the figures pictured on the front of the Hallmark box still depicting the clear canopy.
Pros: None.
Cons: A virtually unknown ship from a short-lived corner of the franchise, with a design that feels out of place both in Star Trek canon and on your holiday tree. The opaque canopy blocks any view of the interior, leaving the included figures hidden and irrelevant. It’s a deep cut that doesn’t offer much reward for collectors or casual fans.

Emergency Medical Hologram, U.S.S. Voyager Famous words: “Please state the nature of the medical emergency.”
Long-range Starfleet vessels are equipped with an EMH, or Emergency Medical Hologram in humanoid form, capable of treating any known disease or injury. When the U.S.S. Voyager was stranded and its medical crew killed, the ship’s emergency “Doctor” answered the call. His computer program ran continu- ously and adapted to new situations. Over time, the Doctor developed a unique personality and came to be regarded as a valued member of the crew.

Pros: A solid likeness of Voyager’s holographic physician, and it’s great to see this fan-favorite character get representation in the line. The sculpt captures his no-nonsense demeanor and clinical charm.
Cons: As nice as it looks, this one’s just begging for a sound chip. Hearing “Please state the nature of the medical emergency” would’ve elevated it from good to unforgettable. The Doctor’s voice is half the character—this ornament only gives us the other half.

ENTERPRISE NX-01™
Are humans ready to explore deep space? The Vulcans have their doubts, but in the year 2151, Captain Jonathan Archer™ assembles an eager crew-including one Vulcan officer to inaugurate a new era of discovery. The days ahead will be filled with wonder, excitement, and danger. “Starfleet seems to think we’re ready to begin our mission,” the Captain tells his crew in the first episode of this latest Star Trek adventure. It is the prequel to the legendary Star Trek universe, the story of gallactic explorers in the first starship named Enterprise™.
“Prepare to break orbit…and lay in a course,” the Captain continues. “Take her out, Mr. Mayweather…straight and steady.”
To hear the Captain speaking, press the button on the top of the display base.
BATTERY-OPERATED. Uses three 1.5-volt button-cell batteries (included). Complete instructions enclosed.

Additional information:
Pros: Crafted in metal, the NX-01 has a richness and weight that gives it a premium, heirloom feel. The detail shines through in the sculpt, and its durability sets it apart. More die-cast ornaments like this would be a welcome return for the series.
Cons: Its heft also means you’ll need a very sturdy branch—or opt for shelf display instead. It would be great to see this ship revisited in styrene to better match the style of the other ornaments in the Enterprise lineup.

STAR TREK: VOYAGER™
A unique ornament! The Delta Flyer was originally intended as a space-faring “hot rod” by a crew member known for his keen interest in 20th-century automobiles. Later, as
numerous crew members collaborated on design and construction, their diverse
backgrounds were reflected in the technologically advanced shuttlecraft.
This Keepsake Ornament adds a bit of magic to your holidays with its red and blue lights- and a message from the captain of the U.S.S. Voyager™: “This is Captain Janeway of the Federation Vessel Delta Flyer. We are on a mission of peaceful exploration.”
To hear Captain Janeway’s message, press the sound button located beneath the front of the ship. The message will play through one time and stop automatically.

Pros: The Delta Flyer is beautifully crafted with exceptional detail, making it one of the more visually impressive small-craft ornaments in the line. Janeway’s voice clip is a welcome bonus that adds personality and ties it nicely to Voyager’s legacy.
Cons: Its scale is noticeably off when displayed alongside other Star Trek ships—making this “shuttle” appear nearly as large as a starship. It’s a minor quirk and easily remedied with some creative placement on the tree.
