Pros: Sitting in the Captain’s chair, chin in hand, is all we need in a Kirk ornament.
Cons: Some may not like the wire hanger that extends over Kirk’s head. A design that was prevalent in the 90s.

Star Trek Voyager – Hallmark Christmas Ornament Commercial (1996)

Unlike previous Hallmark Star Trek commercials, the 1996 Voyager ad features clips from the series piecemealed together to make a cohesive narrative. Notice the odd tagline at the end…”You’ll feel better inside”.

  • Voice over: “The U.S.S. Voyager has just returned to Earth.”
  • Neelix: “I can’t believe this.”
  • Chakotay: “On screen.”
  • Tom Paris: “It’s the Voyager.”
  • The Doctor: “Where?”
  • Voice over: “At your Hallmark Gold Crown store.”
  • Chakotay: “I never thought it would actually happen. Are we ready for it?”
  • Voice over: “Get the U.S.S. Voyager Keepsake Magic ornament, now only at Hallmark Gold Crown.”
  • Harry Kim: “You know, I think a memento for my parents would be a great idea.”
  • B’Elanna Torres: “You took the words right out of my mouth.”
  • *singing*: “This is your Hallmark Gold Crown store. You’ll feel better inside.”

“Death Wish” Episode Turns Voyager Into Christmas Ornament

“Death Wish” is the 18th episode of the second season of the  Star Trek: Voyager. The episode originally aired on February 19, 1996 and fans were treated to Q turning the starship Voyager into a Christmas ornament.

Unfortunately, we never got to see the ship from the outside hanging on the Christmas tree but we did get to see from the perspective of the crew out Voyager’s main viewscreen.

We see nearby “planetary” ornaments and even Q himself as he holds a dangling Voyager and peers inside.

At the time of its February airing, Hallmark had not yet released a Voyager ornament. Fans would only have to wait until Christmas of that same year to see what Q saw.
