Another 2011 Defiant threatens to make a dent in someone’s holiday pocketbook. The latest glow-in-the-dark ship to be offered on eBay has a price of $1284.98 with shipping. This ornament appears to have some discoloration on the saucer section and as noted in the description the box has some slight creasing.

Two things that make me go “Hmmmm . . ..”
—The listing is down—or at least I can’t find it in my searches.
—That mottling on the primary hull. The Defiant was a bit of an experiment for us. It was the first time we used phosphorescent paint on an ornament to that extent. Maybe after 10 years, they all are doing that. I’ve not pulled mine out to look at it in some time. I’m understandably curious.
And this one is making my Spidey Sense tingle. Very high price, all feedback seems to be as a buyer rather than a seller, and all those photos but not one photo of the ornament itself? While I recognize that there are plenty of sellers on eBay for whom English is not a first language. That said, the description on this one also gives me pause.
If you go looking for the one in this post and find the one in my comment, this is me, friend to friend, saying caveat emptor.
A second 2011 Defiant is up on eBay. Earlier this week a Defiant, which remains unsold, was offered up at $3,000 and $2,500. This second Defiant, from a different seller, has an asking price of $2,000.

A 2011 Hallmark Defiant has become available on eBay with an asking price of $1,775. Interestingly, the same Defiant originally had an asking price of $85.00 before being quickly taken down and relisted at the current pricing. The seller, past-treasures, obviously figured out what they had on their hands and made adjustments.
A 2011 Defiant ornament went up for auction in July that had a few red flags. The seven day auction was originally launched with a $350 “Buy it now” option. In less than 9 hours it had received three bids before it was listed as sold, six days prematurely, for $51. It seems the ornament was relisted on eBay by the original seller and sold for $299.
Well, I received an update today from the would-be buyer that explains how everything went down.
“This was a rip off. I bought the ornament from Nacho at first he ended the auction because he had a buy now at $350 so he ended it I paid $51 then relisted it for $299 so I was the same buyer both totaled $350 which was the buy now price. I waited 2 weeks and he never shipping it. I opened a case he then shipped it but it was not a 2011 Enterprise in fact it was a part for a RV. I don’t believe he ever had it. I got all my money back and left bad feedback warning others to stay away!”
Fortunately, this buyer was able to get his money back. We appreciate him filling us in on the details.
