If you are a Star Trek ornament completist there are six ornaments which will prove the most elusive. Some were produced in small quantities for conventions which immediately made them collectibles. Some were more widely available but are rarely seen up for resell because owners likely do not know they have something of value. Both quantity and collectability awareness contribute to an ornament’s availability and price in the secondhand market.
2009 Gold Uhura
Usually seen in “engineering and security” red. Lieutenant Uhura wore this striking “command” gold uniform. This special event edition repaint of the 2007 Lieutenant Uhura limited quantity ornament was created for exclusive distribution at major collector events and conventions.

The U.S.S. Defiant features luminescent paint that allows the ornament to glow-in-the-dark as seen in “The ThoIian Web”. In celebration of Star Trek’s 45th anniversary, Hallmark produced 700 U.S.S. Defiant ornaments available at New York Comic-Con.
Although more units were produced than the 2009 Uhura Gold, the quantity still pales in comparison to recent event exclusives that can number over 3,000. Ornament resell websites list this ornament as high as $3,999.99.

2016 Maxine
Limited to a production run of 100 for Star Trek’s 50th Anniversary, there isn’t a lot that screams Star Trek with this ornament. Hallmark’s familiar Maxine sports the delta logo badge on her shirt and a Star Trek shopping bag hangs from the crook of her elbow. The packaging is labeled with the Trek 50th Anniversary insignia and a blue starburst announces it is a “convention exclusive”.
Nothing on the packaging of this ornament mentions it is limited to only 100 pieces, a far lower number than any other Star Trek event exclusive ornament. There was some turnover initially but the Maxine ornament today is rarely on eBay.
Originally available at Star Trek: Mission New York and New York Comic Con for $30.00. There is not a lot about the Maxine ornament that screams Star Trek. She sports the Delta insignia and her shopping bag has a Trek reference written on the side but other than that the ornament is ALL Maxine from her sunglasses down to her bunny slippers.
Only three Maxine ornaments have been sold on eBay in the past three years, none of which have were offered in the past ten months.

2018-19 Spock Decoupage
Mr. Spock brings a holiday wish to “Live long and prosper. ” Failing to add this stylized decoupage ornament of the resourceful Vulcan to your Christmas tree would be highly illogical. The ornament is ready to hang on your Christmas tree with a hanger attachment.
Even though it was available in Walmarts over two holiday seasons, the Spock decoupage was not plentiful. Stores never seemed to have more than a half dozen originally and resupply was far and few between.
This ornament likely hangs on many many trees across the United States but it is doubtful owners know it can command a high price and it is seldom seen on resell sights. Three have been sold on eBay in the past sixteen months but none have been offered up in the last twelve months.

A Christmas tree ornament that captures the essence of Captain Jean-Luc Picard? Make it so! Captain Picard was among the youngest Starfleet officers ever to command a starship. Relive his missions at the helm of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC 1701-D from “Star Trek: The Next Generation” with this figural decoration.
This Picard ornament was only available on Amazon in December of 2021. It sold out quickly and it is unclear how many were made available but we know at least of at least 169 were sold since we have that many purchase reviews listed on the site. It is documented that only 1-2-% of Amazon buyers leave reviews and by that method there may be as many as 17,000-34,000 of these ornaments in existence.
Many consumers didn’t know they were getting a rare ornament when they stumbled across them on Amazon. They have no idea the Picard ornament can fetch a high price on eBay. Prices will range wildly depending on the knowledge of the seller. It has been sold as a “buy it now” for less than $20 and it has been listed as “rare” and sold for over $130.
