A Day in the Life of an Ornament: Make It Flow Number One

Trek Core Reviews Scotty Storyteller
TrekCore.com has posted their review of the latest Storyteller ornament, Scotty, that was released in July.

Considering these audio clips are coming from a 1960s television show, I think the sound quality is pretty remarkable — especially when you compare it to some of the very early talking Star Trek ornaments from the 90s.
As for the physical ornament, Mirror Scotty’s uniform and accessories are nicely detailed. The character has his dagger on his right hip, his phaser on his left, the iconic Terran empire logo is present on his chest, along with the three medals pins on the left and rank braids on his sleeves — and of course, that stylishly evil gold lamé sash (which isn’t quite sparkly enough for me!).

New Storyteller Packaging Confirmed

In July, we posted about Hallmark’s new Storyteller packaging seen in images found on the Hallmark website. At the time we didn’t know if it was something we would see on physical packages or just limited to online images. It can now be confirmed the larger artwork is on physical packaging and is slowly making its way into stock as older inventory is depleted.

Along with the new artwork are new item numbers for the 2020 and 2021 Storytellers.

A Look Back at Star Trek in the Hallmark Dream Books
Ornament collectors everywhere countdown to the day the new Hallmark Dream Book arrives in July. It is the true start of the Christmas season!
The first Star Trek ornament debuted in the 1991 Dream Book but was left out from 1992-1994. Trek ornaments would appear in the catalog every year once they returned in 1995. Below are all of the Dream Book pages that Star Trek ornaments have graced. I have substituted print advertisements for the years they were absent in the early 90s.

Where is the Star Trek Water Globe?
In April, at Star Trek Mission: Chicago, the PopMinded booth displayed the upcoming 2022 Trek merchandise which included a Star Trek Transporter Water Globe. The display showed a release date of August in photos posted by TrekCore.
The Transporter Chamber was displayed again at the PopMinded both at San Diego Comic-Con. It is said to have light and sound with a retail of $99.99.
My inbox has been hit up more and more as the month has progressed with inquiries on the Trek water globe. Unfortunately, as we near the end of August, there are still no signs of it. Whether it has been delayed to the fall, pushed back to 2023 or scrubbed completely is still to be discovered.

Rick Sternbach Autographed Delta Flyer

The design brief for the Delta Flyer called for a tough, all-enviroment shuttlecraft that combined Starfleet, Maquis, and Borg technology. The final ship was designed by Rick Sternbach, who worked hard to find a new and interesting shape.
