Hallmark appears to be expanding their Star Trek universe. The Star Trek water globe, available in August, seems to be a direct descendent of Hallmark’s take on the Keepsake Table Toppers (2016’s “To Boldly Go” and 2019’s Transporter). The water globe has the familiar Star Trek character figures and employs the light and sound technology seen in the Keepsake line for years.
It has yet to be seen how the water globe will be marketed but it is possible it will be in stores as an off-season product since it will not be under the Keepsake label.
Transporter Water Globe (ISRT1010) with light and sound Available: August 2022
Star Trek Mission Chicago has officially ended. So where do we go from here? The next Star Trek Mission convention will take place on the west coast in Seattle, WA in May of 2023.
While waiting for Mission Seattle, look for San Diego Comic-Con beginning July 21st and New York Comic Con on October 6th.
The 2022 Enterprise ornament from Strange New Worlds was posted on PopMinded by Hallmark’s Instagram. The ornament will be released in October and retail for $32.99.
The 1997 Data ornament inspiration is harder to pin down than others in the line. Data is in his familiar position on the bridge but there wasn’t one obvious image the ornament seemed to mimic.
The only clue to go on is the missing headrest on his chair indicating that it is after Season 1. In the end, the most similar image on the internet seems to be from Season 3, Episode 1 “Evolutions”.
Season 1, Episode 3 ”Code of Honor” seated with headrest.Season 2, Episode 2 ”Where Silence Has Lease” with no headrest.
Left: Data from Season 1 with headrest.
Right: Data was seen in multiple episodes seated at the controls.
Image A (above) Brent Spiner looks into the camera in what at first appears to be a publicity still.Image B (above): Spiner is obviously looking over his shoulder and past the camera. This appears to be the frame after Image A. This still was tracked down to Season 3, Episode 1”Evolutions” (TNG).You can see in Image B (right) Spiner’s head has turned to expose more of the sign on door behind him.The major differences are the position of Data’s right hand and shoulders. The image is close but not likely the ornament’s inspiration.
We have known about the Q itty bitty coming out this year since January but it appears he will not be alone. In November, Hallmark will be releasing a Guinan itty bitty as well.

“Make it so! Always wanted a Captain Picard for our tree, this definitely fit the bill. As described, came in an unopened box, looks regal af on the tree. A+ Vendor :)”
“Paint job was horrible. I know that when I am purchasing a Hallmark product, I have an expectation of receiving a quality product. It should be gift-worthy. When I received the Picard ornament, I was, frankly, shocked. If I had had the opportunity to examine beforehand, I would have passed this by completely.
What a retched paint job. This is Captain Jean Luc Picard, not the Joker! Workmanship matters. Pride in ones work should matter. Where is the quality control in such things? Shame on you for releasing such a poor quality item.”
“Impressive. I was really surprised at the details of this. Got it as a gift for my brother because he’s a huge Star Trek fan and he loves Picard. Would have kept it myself, but my brother is lucky I like him. Lol.”
“Smaller than expected. This was good quality sturdy as any other hallmark ornaments. I was a little disappointed on the size. We have all the other Star Trek captain ornaments and was adding Picard to the collection although he is almost half the size of the others. Still a great ornament just strange that they decided to make him differently sized than the others.”
