2020 Star Trek Storytellers Hanging Around

Kevin Dilmore has announced that the 2020 Hallmark Star Trek Storyteller ornaments will be available until the entire series has been produced.  This means Kirk, Sulu, Uhura and the Enterprise tree topper will be available to purchase in 2021 and 2022.

We still have Spock, McCoy, Scotty and Chekov to be released over the next two years. Although there hasn’t been any official announcement, it is likely we will see Spock and Scotty in 2021 and McCoy and Chekov in the final year.

Whichever ornaments are released next year they will be available in both 2021 and 2022.  There is still no word if the 2021-2022 Star Trek releases will be exclusively Storytellers or if we will see other Star Trek ornaments. With all the new Star Trek series that have and will be coming out it is hard to imagine we won’t see something from Picard or Lower Decks.

2020 Hallmark Ornament Premiere: Proceed With Caution

Hallmark Ornament Premiere is this week beginning  July 11, 2020. In typical years it would be common to see customers lined up around the store waiting for the doors to open.  It is uncertain what this year will bring.  Will stores implement measures limiting access? Will consumers simply shop from home?

The only official word found on Hallmark’s website about the Premiere during the COVID-19 outbreak is a simple line stating contact your local store “to learn how this year’s event might be different”.

The seriousness of COVID-19 should not be understated and Hallmark Corporation should not leave procedures up to the individual stores.  The Hallmark Ornament Premiere is there biggest event of the year where you typically find customers shopping shoulder-to-shoulder, consistently reaching over and in front of others.  The checkout line is commonly 30-50 people deep as it winds in and out of each aisle.  There is literally no place to avoid others in yea’s past.

Hopefully, the individual stores will make the right decisions to make it as safe as possible for the consumers and their employees.  I emailed Hallmark ten days ago, on June 30th, with my concerns and have yet to get a reply.

Below is a copy of my inquiry followed by the automated response:

What procedures are you implementing at your stores to insure the safety of your customers during the upcoming Hallmark Ornament Premiere? I am concerned if you leave it up to the individual stores they will not take the full precautions. In past years the Hallmark displays have taken up approximately 12’-15’ of wall space.  Can more than two customers shop safely while socially distancing at 6’?

We still haven’t heard from Hallmark as of this post. So we will say what they should be saying…

Hallmark ornament collectors and fans,

Please be extra cautious this year.  Shop online, reserve ornaments with your local store limiting your time for pick up only, avoid the opening Premiere weekend when customer traffic will be at its highest, call your local store and ask when there slower times during the week tend to be, ask them what safety measures they are taking.

2020 has been a trying year. Hopefully, 2021 brings a return to normalcy.  Stay vigilant. Continue taking the necessary precautions not only this weekend but until we have gotten though this.

  • wear a mask
  • wash your hands regularly
  • socially distance by at least 6’
  • limit your time indoors when in public

Stay safe!
Thank you for visiting Hallmark Star Trek Ornaments.

Update! Email received the day after the Saturday premiere…

Comic-Con@Home – July 22-26, 2020

Source: Toucan

San Diego Comic Convention (SDCC), the organizers behind the annual comics and pop culture convention Comic-Con, today shared details for an initiative in the works, Comic-Con@Home, an online event that will combine aspects of the convention experience with the comforts of home. Circumstances involving the COVID-19 pandemic and California’s restrictions against large gatherings have forced SDCC to cancel their 2020 international celebration that brings fans and professionals from all over the world to San Diego. Comic-Con@Home was first teased in early May with a short video announcement and a promise of details to come. Pop culture enthusiasts will note that this initiative joins the Comic-Con Museum’s virtual endeavor, Comic-Con Museum@Home, already ongoing.

Although Comic-Con@Home will provide badges for fans to print and wear proudly, all aspects of the initiative are free and there are no limits to how many can attend. “For the first time in our 50-year history, we are happy to welcome virtually anyone from around the globe,” said SDCC spokesperson David Glanzer. “Though stay-at-home conditions make this a very difficult time, we see this as an opportunity to spread some joy and strengthen our sense of community.” Comic-Con@Home will be held on the same dates as the previously canceled Comic-Con, July 22-26, 2020.

2020 Star Trek Las Vegas Moves to December

Official Announcement:

IMPORTANT UPDATE: June 5, 2020

The Official Star Trek Las Vegas Convention Moving to NEW DATE and VENUE!
Admission Passes and Tickets Have Been Temporarily Taken Off Sale But Will Be Back Soon!

During these challenging times, the safety of our Star Trek convention attendees, celebrities and staff is the utmost importance to us. We have continued to monitor the local, federal and international protocols concerning the COVID-19 pandemic, and while we had hoped that our Official Star Trek Convention in Las Vegas could take place in August, due to the unprecedented circumstances, we must postpone and move to a new venue.

The 19th Annual Star Trek Convention’s NEW DATE is now December 9-13, 2020 and is beaming into Caesars Forum Conference Center Las Vegas, the brand-new state of the art, $375 million facility located in the heart of the famed Las Vegas Strip! Caesars Forum Conference Center features direct access to our new host hotel, the newly renovated Harrah’s Las Vegas!

William Shatner, Walter Koenig, Kelsey Grammer and more guests have confirmed the new date, and we are currently working on more confirmations. Please check the website for updates!

If you wish to hold your same seat or general admission, as well as a la carte autograph and photo op tickets, you do not need to do anything. Your tickets and same seating will be transferred to the new date and updated tickets will be sent to you via the email address you used at the time of purchase within a few weeks. Your original ticket will no longer be valid.

Attendees must cancel their hotel reservations at this time. We will have revised booking links shortly so you can re-book your hotel reservations for the new date.

As for flight cancellations, many air carriers have amended their policies and procedures during this health crisis to accommodate customers. Please contact your airlines directly for information.

If you’d like a refund for the Star Trek Vegas Convention, please contact customer.service@creationent.com. The deadline for refund requests for the convention is June 19, 2020 (please include your invoice number and the convention name/city in your email).  If you do not request a refund by the deadline, your admission passes and a la carte photo op and autograph tickets will be transferred to the new date. Refunds will begin to be processed after the deadline date. Please allow up to 8 weeks from the deadline date for your request to be processed.

We appreciate your patience and continued support and look forward to seeing everyone in December!

Until we can all safely meet to celebrate all things Star Trek,
Your friends at Creation Entertainment
