We have been covering not only the price hike in the Star Trek Storytellers series but also the discrepancies between the Dream Book and Hallmark’s official website.
We still haven’t received an answer to our inquiry about Hallmark’s pricing confusion but we do have an update. Unfortunately, the pricing on Hallmark’s website has now been changed to match the higher prices of the 2020 Dream Book.
The 2020 Dream Book is now available to KOC members in physical form and a virtual catalog is available for download on Hallmark’s website. Hallmark has also posted the 2020 ornaments on their website. Unfortunately, the two do not jive. Hallmark’s website has the expected prices of $29.99 for Uhura, Kirk and Sulu and $119.99 for the Enterprise. The Dream Book is listing inflated prices of $34.99 for the character ornaments and $149.99 for the Tree Topper.
We have reached out for clarification but have not heard back at this time. Stay tuned.

When the 2020 Hallmark Star Trek Storyteller Ornaments were announced they had a price tag of $29.99 per character and $119.99 for the Enterprise Tree Topper. We now have had our first glimpse of the 2020 Hallmark Dream Book and the Storyteller characters are now $34.99 and the Tree Topper is a whopping $149.99. OUCH! You will be looking at $254.96 for the 2020 Star Trek lineup and that is before the Event Exclusive Tribble appears on eBay for $60.00 – $100.00.
I wanted to make sure the following comment didn’t get lost in the comment section. Thank you for a well written response that sums up what many of us were thinking.
For year’s Star Trek fans have been adorning their Christmas tree’s summit with custom made insignia toppers, repurposed Star Trek items and licensed but off-brand pieces.
When Hallmark’s Star Trek Enterprise tree topper premieres next July we will finally have an “official” tree topper that has been 30 years in the making.
The Enterprise tree topper will also be in the Storytellers series and will communicate with other ornaments to retell the classic Mirror, Mirror episode.
The starship topper comes with a $119.95 price tag but unlike a traditional ornament there is only room for one tree topper on your Christmas tree so the 2020 release is likely to be the only topper we ever see from Hallmark.
2020 will be the first of a three year Star Trek Storyteller ornament line. Storyteller ornaments are interactive with other pieces in the series and have been a success since first introduced in 2017.
The Storyteller Enterprise Tree Topper ornament tells a different story depending on the combination of other ornaments in the series connected via a Keepsakes power cord. These Storyteller ornaments will be based upon characters from the Star Trek episode “Mirror, Mirror”. Look for Mirror Sulu, Mirror Kirk and Mirror Uhura in 2020 and more Storytellers coming in 2021 and 2022.
The Storyteller Uhura ornament tells a different story depending on the combination of other ornaments in the series connected via a Keepsakes power cord. These Storyteller ornaments will be based upon characters from the Star Trek episode “Mirror, Mirror”. Look for Mirror Sulu, Mirror Kirk in 2020 and more Storytellers coming in 2021 and 2022.
Hallmark is also releasing a Star Trek tree topper for the first time in 2020 that will also be compatible with the Storyteller series.
