Additional information:
Having succumbed to the planet Psi 2000’s intoxication, bare-chested Hikaru Sulu, a swashbuckler at heart, challenges Captain Kirk and other crew members with a fencing foil. This Christmas tree ornament features dialogue from the unforgettable episode “The Naked Time” from the Star Trek™ original television series.
Pros: Any true Trek fan is immediately brought back to this unforgettable episode. The combination of costumes, poses, and audio makes it a strong addition to any Star Trek ornament collection.
Cons: Something about the scene feels just slightly off, though it’s hard to pinpoint. Sulu alone might have made for a stronger standalone ornament, or better yet—a Sulu and Kirk two-pack without a base, allowing collectors to pose them freely among the tree branches. Of course, that would’ve meant losing the audio. It is very disappointing that Uhura’s perfect response of “Sorry, neither” to Sulu’s “maiden” comment was omitted—it’s one of the best lines in all of Trek!
