Additional information:
Star Trek stamp illustrator, Keith Birdsong, also created the cover art for several Star Trek Pocket Books novels.
It was a long journey to get the United States Postal Service to issue a Star Trek stamp. Star Trek fan, Bill Kraft, led the effort and captured it in his book, Maybe We Need a Letter from God: The Star Trek Stamp.
Pros: A fun and unique way to commemorate Star Trek’s place in pop culture history—receiving its own U.S. postage stamp. The design cleverly blends philately and fandom, making it a standout for collectors of both.
Cons: Unfortunately, the ornament is prone to noticeable tarnishing over time, which can dull its shine and diminish its display appeal. It’s a cool concept—but one that requires careful storage and upkeep.

This is one of my favorite Keepsake Ornaments ever produced. I had a chance to meet Keith Birdsong once and get this box signed. I also interviewed him about his Star trek art for an issue of Star Trek Communicator magazine. We lost a very talented artist much too soon.

The way the ornament ages is disappointing to see. I’m sure it never was anticipated when the material was selected.
