Miniature ornaments…

With word spreading about Hallmark Keepsake Ornaments’ 2025 assortment, I’m back to share some background on our Star Trek offerings for this year.
Representing Star Trek: The Next Generation, we have Guinan in a pose inspired by her appearance in the season 2 episode “Q Who.” Available in October.
Representing Star Trek: Picard, we have the U.S.S. Titan NCC-80102-A as seen in season 3. Available in October.
Representing Star Trek: Prodigy, we have Hologram Janeway, the U.S.S. Protostar’s holographic training advisor. Available in October.Representing fan-favorite Star Trek official products, we have a re-creation of 1983’s Star Trek Strategic Operations Simulator Arcade Game in its sit-down “Captain’s Chair” cabinet. This ornament features a lighted display and original sounds from the game. Available in October.
Indulge me in a little elaboration on this ornament. How many of us wanted to own this arcade game? How many of us actually do? Well, as far as I’m concerned, this ornament is the next best thing to it. I still am pinching myself that it actually exists. Keepsake Artist Orville Wilson and Hallmark sound engineer Chris Johnson did masterful work bringing this to life considering the lengths we went for source material. The sculpt is based on dozens of photos I took of a sit-down cabinet on display in the Pinball Hall of Fame in Las Vegas, Nevada. The cabinet graphics were recreated by Orville from art on a brochure for the game I picked up on eBay. The gameplay heard in the ornament and seen on the display was captured while I played an online emulator of the game. I hope you relish it as much as I!
To celebrate the fifth anniversary of Star Trek: Lower Decks, we have a two-pack of Ensigns Beckett Mariner and Bradward Boimler. Available in July.
To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Star Trek: Voyager, we have two miniature ornaments:
—Seven of Nine in a plum variation of her outfit prescribed by the Emergency Medical Hologram, which debuted in season 5. Available in October.
—The U.S.S. Voyager in a scaled-down version. Available in October.
To celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Star Trek: The Next Generation two-part episode “The Best of Both Worlds,” we have the Beware the Borg! Table Decoration. When connected to its included power cord, the cube can be set to either a continuing colorful light display or a light display accompanied by atmospheric sound effects of a Borg cube interior. When the button is pressed, the cube plays a three-act performance of dialogue and sound effects from the episode.
There you have it—our complete lineup for 2025. Or is it . . . ?

First images from the 2024 Hallmark Dream Book is here! Thank you to John L. who sent me the images below showcasing a whopping seven Star Trek ornaments, two of which are mini ornaments.
Finally! We have the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-B to grace our trees. The Enterprise B has been on the annual “want list” for more than a decade now! Thank you, Hallmark!
Spock and Data share an ornament for Unification II. The Keeper debuts, giving us our first Talosian under the Hallmark brand. Christopher Pike is just the latest in a long line of famous Trek captains to be honored as a Keepsake.
What a huge surprise to have Dr. Beverly Crusher appear in ornament form for 2024. Hopefully, we see more of the secondary TNG crew in the future. Geordi LaForge perhaps?

Hallmark is also releasing two Star Trek mini ornaments in ‘24. The Enterprise Refit, which is the baby brother of the 5.7” long 2019 Enterprise refit ornament. Lastly, Hallmark will be releasing a mini Spock in Star Trek: The Motion Picture garb. This ornament may be most surprising since all of the previous mini ornaments were copies of earlier Hallmark ornaments and this sculpt has never been seen before.

I can’t imagine there isn’t something for everyone in this year’s releases. I’m sure there will be some calls for the Protostar and Cerritos ornaments but the arrival of the Enterprise B was a long time coming.
Unfortunately, the Star Trek ornaments are not due to arrive in stores until October except for The Keeper, which will be available in July.
The 2024 Star Trek lineup is the most exciting in years! Bring on July! Bring on October!

With the recent behind the scenes footage from the making of the 2024 Hallmark Dream Book we were able to get a quick glance of the Christopher Pike ornament that was announced late last year. Included in the image is a second ornament that looks similar to Beverly Crusher, our Next Generation doctor.
There is no doubt it bares a resemblance, from the red shoulder length hair and blue knee-length open medical coat to the black pants with matching collar. Couple that with the fact it is being photographed along side the Pike ornament on what would presumably be the Star Trek page of the Dream Book and the odds are likelier.
A Crusher ornament was my first thought after seeing the image but I quickly dismissed it. It seemed unlikely Hallmark would revisit the secondary characters of Next Generation. When I saw a reader’s comment on here also asking if it was Crusher, I looked again and couldn’t help but think there may be something to this revisit of the Next Generation crew. The cast was back in the spotlight with last year’s Picard Season 3 reunion and it may be the perfect time to honor the TNG crew more thoroughly. Perhaps this is part of a Next Generation Legends series that TOS was honored with from 2010-2016. Fingers crossed.

For all of us working on the Dream Book photography shoot, it’s truly the most wonderful time of the year! Lucky for you, we’re happy to share the fun. 😉

It appears if we looked just a little deeper into 2023 Hallmark Dream Book there are a couple of Star Trek mini ornaments. This brings us up to eight new Star Trek items (including the Badgey 2 pack) this year! Thank you to DD for the heads up in the comments section and to common_writer on Twitter for the images.

Here is a reminder of the five ornaments revealed last week…

2023 brings us a whopping FIVE Star Trek products from Hallmark! Lower Decks becomes the 10th series in the Star Trek franchise with an ornament with a 2-pack of Badgeys. We also get a fantastic likeness of Picard and Scotty from the iconic Next Generation episode “Relics”. A new U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 table decoration that is reminiscent of the Enterprise Storyteller Tree Topper. We learned the previously announced Data and Spot ornament is officially called Data’s Ode to Spot. And finally, we have The Hand of Apollo ornament, a fantastic looking ornament that a bulb from a light strand can be inserted into to make a glowing effect. UPDATE: It is confirmed this is not just the hand but the Enterprise and the hand.
Hallmark’s Star Trek line has concentrated on the Storytellers series for the last three years and in 2023 we seem to have had an explosion of exciting ideas and designs!

Ornament collectors everywhere countdown to the day the new Hallmark Dream Book arrives in July. It is the true start of the Christmas season!
The first Star Trek ornament debuted in the 1991 Dream Book but was left out from 1992-1994. Trek ornaments would appear in the catalog every year once they returned in 1995. Below are all of the Dream Book pages that Star Trek ornaments have graced. I have substituted print advertisements for the years they were absent in the early 90s.
