The lone survivor of a crashed ship on the mysterious planet of Talos IV, the human woman Vina ultimately became a lure to attract other spacefaring beings into the psychic clutches of the native Talosians. To entice Captain Christopher Pike of the U.S.S. Enterprise, the bulbous-headed aliens created mental illusions that transformed Vina into all manner of appealing creatures, including an unforgettable green-skinned Orion slave girl who quickly danced her way into science fiction history!

Additional information:
No one can deny their attraction to this green-skinned Orion slave girl. Star Trek fans will love adding this unforgettable illusion to their Keepsake Ornament collection. This ornament was issued in limited quantities and first available at the 2014 Keepsake Ornament Premiere event.
Pros: Star Trek’s version of the Christmas pickle—this ornament could add a playful tradition to the tree, encouraging fans to hide it among the branches. A clever nod to a memorable character from “The Cage.”
Cons: Unfortunately, the facial sculpt and paint application miss the mark. With its green hue and expressionless face, Vina ends up looking more like She-Hulk than an Orion slave girl—making it even more desirable to hide in the tree.

Pros: A bold addition that offers a darker, more menacing aesthetic—a nice change of pace from the traditional Hallmark Trek ship lineup. Its angular design and sleek finish make it stand out in the right display.
Cons: The dark coloring makes it easy to lose among tree branches. Even fans of Star Trek Into Darkness may not immediately recognize the ship.

Additional information:
Mr. Spock was admired for his logic, but he was also empathic, and he used both traits to try to understand the many beings the staff of the U.S.S. Enterprise encountered in their intergalactic travels. This magic ornament commemorates the 1967 Star Trek episode, “The Devil in the Dark,” where Mr. Spock communicates with a Horta. Simply press the button on the ornament and you can hear dialogue from this scene.
Pros: A delightfully unexpected choice that honors one of the Original Series’ most memorable episodes. The sculpt of the Horta is spot-on, and the audio clip adds great atmosphere.
Cons: None. It’s a standout piece that showcases Hallmark’s willingness to dig deep into classic Trek lore.

Pros: One of the stronger entries in the Legends series. The sculpt captures Sulu’s essence well—especially that unmistakable hairline—and honors his presence on the bridge.
Cons: As with the rest of the Legends line, the small scale limits finer details, leaving the figure feeling a bit flat up close. A little more facial definition would have elevated it.

Additional information:
This 2013 EVENT Hallmark ornament was made from the same mold as the U.S.S. Kelvin ornament that was offered in Hallmark Gold Crown stores during the 2013 ornament season. This 2013 Comic-Con exclusive U.S.S. Kelvin features a heavily battle damaged U.S.S. Kelvin – just like during the battle with Nero and the Romulans that were from the future in the J.J. Abrams feature film, Star Trek. This is the ship that George Kirk, father of James T. Kirk, sacrificed so that his wife and newly born son could escape from a hopeless battle.
Pros: An event exclusive is always a welcome addition for collectors, especially those attending conventions or premieres.
Cons: While exclusivity adds appeal, the repaint itself doesn’t stand out much—especially compared to some of the more creative or visually striking exclusives from earlier years.

Pros: The Gorn looks great! It’s a classic scene for Hallmark to commemorate, and the dynamic pose gives the ornament real energy. Fans will appreciate the nod to one of the most iconic—and delightfully campy—episodes of The Original Series.
Cons: Kirk’s likeness is off, but there’s no doubt who it is thanks to the uniform, pose and attacking Gorn. The vine netting that is wrapped around Kirk’s legs in the episode is missing from the ornament’s design.

Pros: The Kelvin’s silhouette brings a fresh look to the Trek ornament line. Its unique design stands out nicely among the many saucer-dominated ships and represents a pivotal moment in the rebooted timeline.
Cons: Although significant in Trek canon, the Kelvin might not be immediately recognizable to casual fans. Without a voice clip or familiar crew association, it can feel a bit disconnected from the emotional nostalgia many collectors seek.

Keep the holidays running smoothly with the engineering “miracle worker” of the USS Enterprise, the 4th in our Star Trek Legends series.
Pros: Love that characters outside the big three are recognized. It’s great to see Montgomery Scott finally get his due in the Legends lineup, and his classic engineering stance is a nice touch.
Cons: Unfortunately, the likeness falls short. The under-detailed face makes the figure nearly unrecognizable without the context of the uniform and pose. A missed opportunity for one of Trek’s most beloved characters.

Pros: It’s great to have Picard’s iconic opening monologue immortalized in an ornament. The sculpt is strong, and the sound clip adds gravitas, giving the Enterprise-D the presence it deserves on any display.
Cons: The ornament is a bit bulky and unbalanced, making it tricky to hang. It’s better suited for a tabletop display, where it can really be appreciated. No lights.

Pros: Two Spocks are always better than one. The concept behind this ornament—a tribute to one of the most iconic moments in Star Trek history—is undeniably compelling. Seeing Leonard Nimoy’s Spock face off with his younger counterpart from Star Trek (2009) taps into the kind of fan service that should, on paper, make for a memorable collectible.
Cons: Unfortunately, the execution doesn’t live up to the ambition. The figures feel undersized, diminishing the emotional weight of the scene. The background, instead of grounding the moment, looks more like a stylized Trek-themed billboard than a believable setting, and its sheer scale becomes a visual distraction. Add to that a bland palette of grays and beiges, and the ornament ends up feeling washed out and lifeless. While the intent to capture this pivotal meeting is appreciated, the final product lacks the depth, detail, and color contrast needed to truly bring it to life. A great idea—just not a great ornament.

Additional information: 45th anniversary of Balance of Terror.
Pros: This ornament boasts accurate detailing and a stunningly crafted underbelly. It’s well-balanced and visually striking—one of the finer additions to the Star Trek ship collection.
Cons: Unfortunately, the intricate underbelly design is rarely visible when hanging in a typical tree display. To showcase its best features, hang it high and at a slight tilt to give it the spotlight it deserves.

When filming began on “Balance of Terror,” producer Bob Justman placed a call to his ace up the sleeve — special effects designer Wah Chang. The uncredited artist was the brilliant creative mind behind the communicator, the Salt Vampire, the Tribbles and other iconic Trek costumes and props. Justman asked Chang to fabricate a new alien ship with a twist. He wanted something like a bird swooping down upon its enemy to wipe them out.

Wah Chang was a non-union contractor. The Bird of Prey prop was returned to him after the production of “Balance of Terror.” Thinking it was a one-off use, Chang had disposed of the ship. After much back and forth, producers came to the revelation and determined the budget could not afford to rebuild the prop.

In the season two episode “The Deadly Years,” the Enterprise again encounters some Romulan Bird of Prey ships. To create the space scenes, stock footage was used. The following season, our heroes again face off against the Romulans in “The Enterprise Incident.” However, Spock notes an immediate difference: “Intelligence reports Romulans now using Klingon design.”

Pros: Valerie Shanks’ rookie Star Trek ornament is a strong debut. The likenesses are solid, but what truly stands out is the dynamic interaction—Spock’s firm grasp on McCoy’s wrist contrasted with the doctor’s head and shoulders pulling away—perfectly capturing the tension of the scene.
Cons: The only real drawback? No lighting on the back panel, which would have added depth and atmosphere to this dramatic moment.

Pros: Instantly recognizable as the iconic Vulcan, this ornament captures Spock’s essence with clarity and presence.
Cons: That said, the sculpt softens Nimoy’s famously long, narrow, angular features into a somewhat rounder shape. While it looks good from some angles, the likeness falls short of perfection up close.
