Hoping that this ornament, and other Star Trek ornaments to come, with be able to plug into a string of lights like the older ornaments used to. Without the lights, these ornaments tend to look like toys on a Christmas tree.

This ornament is powered by batteries like all the recent ones have been. I doubt they will return to the cord design unless they copy the 2017 Star Wars ornaments that are connected by a cord and they communicate to each other.
